SOFT SHOCK

Some photos my sister took over the weekend in Mammoth...

I can't get this song out of my head, it's completely infectious.

EPIC LAST SONG

I have fully embraced the bohemian lifestyle...

It can be glamorous at times but surely not the easy way.

Rare track...

My Itunes has turned into honeyed-synth-pop heaven, I shall lay my head and rest to it.

CHANGE OF HEART

Wasn't feeling the track on the DIM MAK video so I decided to change it mid-edit, great, I'll be up all night re-doing it all. Oh well, I strive for greatness. No one said it would be easy, right???

MAMMOTH

I'm leaving for Mammoth tomorrow afternoon for the weekend.

It will be nice riding the backtrails with my headphones on, hearing the melodies that move me and seeing no one for a while.

p.s. Speaking of headphones, I have them on right now, music blaring as I'm editing/blogging and I just got caught dancing by my roommate. Ehh, ces't la vie.

STILL FOND

I love the mirror effect (layers) and colors in this video...

SMILE UPON ME

sleep depraved and slightly starving...

I've been waking up in the middle of the night lately, I try to toss and turn myself back into a slumber but it rarely works. I usually go through the same process of distraction... Check my phone for drunk texts/bbms and twitter then I reach for my laptop, sleeping loyally bedside. I prompt Itunes to wake up and entertain me and select the flavor of the night. Tonight this track will be on repeat until I yawn (jaw click and all) and rub my eyes for another hibernation...

ANTIQUATED TECH

Some venture back to vinyl records for the love, for the warmth and for the fidelity. I heard from a collector that 70% of the music made before the 60's is only available on vinyl. That means only 30% is available to the general public on Compact Disc and Cassette (both inferior in quality and depth to vinyl records). We are missing out on a major part of history.

I've always had an affinity for analog electronics, most of which are vintage as a result of rudimentary technology. Most of the time I just enjoy the aesthetics but there are a few examples that are superior to their contemporary counterparts. Many of today's products sacrifice quality for efficiency, take BOSE speakers for example. There is no way small speakers can reproduce the soundstage and fullness of full-size loud speakers.

These are a few of my favorite hi-fi ANALOG toys:

SLEEPYHEAD

All I want to do is lay in bed and watch movies on my projector.

All I want to do is travel the world in search of the perfect meal.

All I want to do is make films and be a sleepyhead...

NEVER SLEEP

Springing forward is soo overrated...

I finally got to take a day off after a long week. Had my biggest shoot thus far over the last two days, everything went surprisingly well with only minor glitches. Mike and Joe paid a visit with a house special sammy and white pasta from Paul's Deli, made my day.

Tomorrow I start editing everything I've shot over the last two weeks. It will be stressful and fun. I work well under pressure.

Still cutting at 5AM...
